Use Nemo dialog to open files from other programs (Debian 10)
by pinguino12 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5CX9S)
When I open a file in a program, a Nautilus prompt will appear asking me which file I want to open. This is the case when I press Ctr+O in Firefox, for example. How can I change this behavior to use Nemo instead?
I tried "sudo update-alternatives --config," I tried digging around in mimeinfo.cache, I skimmed "sudo apt list --installed | less," and I even outright purged the Nautilus packages, but the prompt for opening files is still Nautilus.
I should mention that my Window manager is DWM from https://suckless.org, but my Debian distro was originally installed with the GNOME 3 Desktop Environment. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!
Here is some other information, which may help:
OS: Debian GNU/Linux 10 (buster) x86_64
Host: HP EliteDesk 800 G1 SFF
Kernel: 4.19.0-13-amd64
Packages: 2683 (dpkg)
Shell: bash 5.0.3
WM: dwm (originally installed with GNOME 3)
Terminal: st
