Samsung Spyware?
by business_kid from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5CXMF)
On my S7 Edge, I have disabled all the fancy Samsung apps, & disabled all notifications from them. If my phone gets lost or stolen, I don't want some guy buying a holiday on the Costa Plenty on my money, thank you.
Now it's bugging me every hour to turn on "Offline Finding". The idea, I gather, is that they can still track you when you're offline, and they want to upload all this somewhere for hackers to steal & display. No thank you! I have been told that a ping of nearby mobile towers gives your gps within 5 metres, and my phone's gps sensors reduce that further.
Does anyone know how I make that thing take no for an answer, shut up and go away?
EDIT:I think I have it. It's Samsung's FindMyMobile App, but I can't uninstall, disable or silence it.
