Totally Removing a Program
by Completely Clueless from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5D86F)
Hi all,
My installation of Pan newsreader got corrupted somehow and I've tried to completely uninstall it including the config files, but when I do a fresh install, somehow all the user data from the previous installation is still there. I need to totally purge all trace of it in order to successfully reinstall it from scratch. I used Synaptic and specified 'mark for complete removal' out of the options, which I thought would do the trick, but it hasn't. Any suggestions?
