The Seattle Seahawks are looking to a division rival to update their offense.

The Seahawks are planning to make Los Angeles Rams passing game coordinator Shane Waldron their new offensive coordinator, reports ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Seattle fired longtime offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer after losing to the Rams in the playoffs, citing "philosophical differences."

The Seahawks' offense stagnated over the second half of the season, which culminated with a 30-20 wild-card loss to L.A.

Waldron has spent the past four seasons with the Rams and the last three in charge of the team's passing game. L.A. ranked 15th in passing in 2020 and fifth in both 2019 and 2018.

The Rams' coaching and front-office staffs have been raided during this hiring cycle. Former defensive coordinator Brandon Staley was hired as the new head coach of the Los Angeles Chargers and took assistant head coach Joe Barry with him as his new defensive coordinator. The Rams' ex-director of college scouting, Brad Holmes, is the Detroit Lions' new general manager, while former L.A. director of player personnel Ray Agnew joined him as his assistant.

Last season, the Rams lost quarterbacks coach Zac Taylor, who was named the Cincinnati Bengals' head coach.
