Five Hamilton poutine joints for fast and easy take out

Brighten your day and settle that craving with an order of poutine. Yup, here in Hamilton we have some go-to poutine places worthy of your palate.

1. Charred Rotisserie House, 244 James St. N. Can you say piri piri marinated cheese curds? The basic poutine is $12. Pick up or delivery available. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Monday to Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday. Call 289-396-0662 or visit charred.ca

2. Smokes Poutinery, 112 George St. It's a franchise with four locations in the Hamilton area. Make note that the Wow size is enough poutine to feed two hungry adults. The traditional poutine will cost about $10.99 but you can create and add toppings as your heart desires. Available through Uber Eats, SkipTheDishes and DoorDash.

3. Real Burger, 94 Dundas St. E., Waterdown. You have four choices of poutine all under $10. Hours are Tuesday to Thursday and Sunday, noon to 8 p.m. and Friday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Closed Mondays. 4. Hambrgr, 49 King William St. or 207 Ottawa St. N. What could be better than a burger joint to fulfil that poutine craving? These cheese curd delights will cost from $9.50 up to about $15 depending on your toppings. 289-389-1212 downtown, or 905-312-1313 on Ottawa Street.

5. Concession Pizza, 576 Concession St. Who'd have thought poutine at a pizza joint? The specialty poutines are all under $7 and the taste is all Canadian. Pick up or delivery available. 905-385-9888.
