what generates the message 'xxx files and directories currently installed'?

When I run 'apt dist-upgrade,' the stdout output shows this message from time to time.

'xxx files and directories currently installed'?

What exact command can I run on the CLI to just give me that information? I don't wnat to do anything, just see it.
