Cron backup job not working

I have a Cron job to run a daily backup each morning at 7:00 am. It is invoked by a scheduled task.
The job used to run as intended, but no longer does.
The backup is designed to backup a single folder, located in my home folder. Inside that folder are all my sub folders. The top folder shows date and time stamp as if it executed, but checking inside the sub folders, turns out it did not.
Looking back, it seems it stopped working some 2 weeks ago, so I suspect one of the recent updates did it.
When I execute the job manually, it works fine.
All this is under KDE Neon Plasma 5.20.5
Anybody has any suggestions?
