Four new COVID-19 outbreaks, in addition to a fifth at St. Joseph's Healthcare reported Friday night in the Spectator, have been recorded in Hamilton.

The most recent outbreaks reported on the City of Hamilton's online case status page are: The Wellington long term care home, Community Living on Delancey Blvd., the Bank of Montreal branch at 886 Barton St. E., and St. Matthew's House children's centre at 414 Barton St. E. where one staff member and one student have been infected.

Two people are reported to have died from the virus since the city's last update.

Both of the Covid victims lived at Alexander Place long term care home in Waterdown. One of the patients was over 80 years old, the age of the other patient is not listed.

That means 250 people have died from the virus in Hamilton to date.

The city reported 66 new cases and 650 active cases in Saturday's report.

The total number of cases in Hamilton since the start of the pandemic is 9,123 and of those, seven per cent have received care in hospital.

The number of COVID-19 tests in the last seven days that were positive was 3.3 per cent.

Hamilton Health Sciences facilities currently have 85 patients in care diagnosed with the virus, with outbreaks ongoing at Juravinski hospital units E2 and F4; Hamilton General's 5W and Emergency Department; the second floor of the Satellite Health Facility on King St. E. in Effort Square; and West Lincoln Memorial Hospital on C Ward.

St. Joseph's Healthcare is currently caring for 34 patients with COVID-19, and there are 11 new cases in the sixth floor outbreak at the hospital's Alternate Health Facility that it shares with HHS on King St. E., in addition to four support staff workers testing positive at its West 5th campus.
