Secure Boot and booting from USB-stick
by VidarN from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5DQ9B)
I'm having a major issue with UEFI (maybe Secure Boot), but for the purpose of this post, I'd be grateful if someone could comment on my question. Unfortunately, I have Secure Boot enabled. For reasons I won't go into here, I can't disable it.
I'm wondering if I should be able to run an external OS, from an USB-stick. Upon booting from USB, the system prompts a 'MOK management' screen after giving an 'Error Verification failed: Security violation'
I have arranged screendumps for this post. Screenshots for first option:

And the second option, 'Enroll hash from disk' :

As you may be able to see, the first option leads nowhere, to an error message saying 'unsupported format'. I actually haven't gone all the way with the second option. My first question is whether I may do something stupid by proceeding with that line of option, choosing to enroll hash from disk.
I guess the second option will also land me an error message. Leading to the question, how can I run an external USB system on my laptop?
An additional question. Are these interactions ordinary? Are they what I should expect on a system with Secure Boot enabled?
