Need advises for upgrading Slackware

Hello everyone,
I got an assignment from the boss on upgrading the OS on a couple old computers to the latest version. These are computers from the early 2000's running Slackware 11.0..
Due to lack of documentations or access to proprietary packages, I don't think I can do a fresh install of 14.2. I also don't think I can upgrade from 11.0 to 14.2 directly (please correct me if I'm mistaken), that leaves my option to upgrade Slackware version by version.
I've communicated to my boss that this upgrade thing is not a good idea to start with which he totally agrees with. It is a little hard to convince his boss however...
Is there another way to make the upgrade easier? Thanks.
