Laptop draining battery quickly in suspend
by nuht from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5DV2P)
I've noticed massive drains in my Ideapad 730s battery when I wake it up from suspend. Roughly 7-10% per hour is being burned through while it's in suspend mode. I've checked everything I can think to check to make sure it's going into deep sleep but it's still ripping through battery. There's also a noticeable warmth on the bottom of the laptop near the (dead) charging port. I'm at a loss and would appreciate any help that can be offered.
The weird thing is is that this wasn't even a problem until recently and I have no idea what would have caused the change. I've tried using several different kernels as well as trying Ubuntu 20.04 and Linux Mint 20.1. Still same behavior :/
Code:~$ cat /sys/power/mem_sleep
s2idle [deep]Code:Feb 04 21:38:25 nuhtshack kernel: PM: suspend entry (deep)
Feb 04 22:02:03 nuhtshack kernel: PM: suspend exitIf anyone has any suggestions on what could be the issue or any further steps to try to troubleshoot the issue please let me know! Thanks!
