My mx system keeps loosing MX Updater.

Greetings everybody.
I have a System 76 Kudu I purchased on November 2016. I have been using MX linux for about a year now and am pleased with it. The only problem is about every 3 months the mx updater disappears from the panel and I no longer get updates.I wind up reinstalling the OS and eventually after about 3 months the updater disappears again. This has happened 3 times.I could ask how to fix this, but it might be easier just to do updates from command line. If this is possible does somebody know the code I could use to do this?
