Hamilton police issue warrant for man wanted for King Street East shooting
Police are asking for help finding a suspect wanted on several charges in relation to a shooting at a central Hamilton gas station Monday.
Police responded to the area of King Street East and Grant Avenue around 10:20 p.m. on Feb. 8 for multiple reports of gunshots.
Shell casings were found on the ground at the nearby Pioneer Energy gas station, where surveillance footage captured a dispute between two men. Police said one of the men pulled out a gun and shot at the other while he drove away.
There were no injuries.
Police said the suspect's car has since been seized.
Jahval Williams-Pownall, 30, of Hamilton is wanted on six firearm-related charges, including possession of a firearm contrary to four court orders, careless use, transport and storage of a firearm, and discharge of a firearm with intent.
Williams-Pownall is considered armed and dangerous. If seen, police ask to not approach and call 911.
