Slackware-Current (15.0) display configuration not quite working
by mfoley from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5E54F)
I've just installed Slackware Current (15.0) and got the plasma5 desktop running thanks to Alien Bob. Now to address issues.
I have 4 video monitors connected on two NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 video cards. Unlike 14.2, I can now see all 4 monitors without using the NVIDIA driver or NVIDIA's Xinerama. The NVIDIA tools worked fine on 14.2 until about a year ago when some changes to Firefox and LibreOffice prevented me from being able to upgrade those packages (details posted elsewhere). Now, with 15.0, both of those program work fine! Yeah!
Here's my problem: my monitors are arranged with 3 horizonal and one sitting above the lower/middle monitor. The Settings > Display Configuration tool does let me drag the monitors to the correct position, visually. But, I cannot move my cursor into the top monitor. Even though I have a couple of terminal windows that opened into the upper monitor, I cannot get to them with my cursor. If I attempt to drag a window from the lower monitor to the top, it stops at the upper edge and, if I let off the mouse there, it makes the window full screen on the lower monitor. I cannot drag the window to the top monitor. I can move my cursor and drag windows to the left monitor, no problem.
Is there a setting to fix this or am I going to have to re-visit Xinerama :(
