Thunderbird won't allow old profiles any more?

Just did a fresh Linux install (trying Gecko out), and it has Thunderbird v.78.7
The old/ordinary way to move the old profile doesn't seem to work, and what I couldn't find a way around it.
What do I do with it now - I don't want to reconfigure everything.
