Please help i am going to lose my mind trying to reset IPMI password in terminal
by Akatesu from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5EDZM)
I have an Unraid sever that i built a year ago. I never bothered to try and use the IPMI until last night. I thought that the username and password would be the default ADMIN ADMIN. I had no clue about the California law that made them have to have unique passwords. I bought the board used and must have thrown away that information. So now i am trying to run this program from super micro to reset the password on my mother board.
Unraid tells me that the file is in /mnt/user/isos/IPMICFG_1.32.0_build.200910/Linux/64bit/IPMICFG-Linux.x86_64
I am not sure how to run the file
I do know to rest the password i have to type -fd 3 at the end of the string but when i do that it says command not found
When i try whereis IPMICFG-Linux.x86_64 it comes back IPMICFG-Linux: this is completely different than where Unraid says it is located
I am so confused can some one please help me
