sharing /home between multi-boot system - what is "/home /"partition" ?
by jan128 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5EJM3)
I am looking into adding another level of complexity to my system.
Having working multiboot (single HDD for now ) - all Linux Ubuntu system , I like to be able to access EACH OS data. For simplicity let me designate one "main / primary OS" and (temporary) one single secondary OS. Both on same HDD.
After RTFM I am confused by terminology used.
Apparently one oi the methods to "share /home " between OS's is to have "multiple partitions under /home" folder.
I thought the Linux file system uses "folders" and do not get how "partition" term is used here.
Are they really using hardware partition ?
Cheers
