Debian Installer does not recognize unallocated space on SDD drive
by GC32007 from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5ENYR)
I was given an HP Pavillion Gaming Laptop intel Core i5 Geforece GTX laptop with 8gb ram 510ish GB SDD. The SDD is an Intel Optane.
Currently, it has Windows 10. I used Debian some 10 years back and thought I'd install it on this laptop as well. Ive downloaded the full install dvd.iso and ran rufus on the usb stick, and during the graphical install process, the only space or drive or partition that is ever recognized is the USB stick.
A lot has changed in the last 10 years that I've been absent from PCs, so any advice would be quite welcome. Thank you in advance for any feedback.
Ill be glad to give any other info that may be deemed helpful to the troubleshooting process, just let me know what I need to post.
