Report: Panthers expected to franchise tag Moton
The Carolina Panthers are expected to franchise tag starting right tackle Taylor Moton, a source told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Both sides will continue to work toward a long-term deal, Rapoport adds, but the one-year tender will lock Moton in for the 2021 campaign.
The 26-year-old will make $14.51 million fully guaranteed under the tag, according to Over the Cap.
Moton was the Panthers' second-round pick in the 2017 draft and has started each of the last three seasons on the right side.
The versatile blocker has received positive grades in pass protection and run blocking over the last two years, emerging as one of the league's most talented young tackles.
Carolina's offensive line could begin to look significantly different, aside from Moton. Left tackle Russell Okung, left guard Michael Schofield, and right guard John Miller are all pending free agents.
