Android Tablet - Add Website Icon to Chrome Opening Page

When opening Chrome, on my Android tablet, there are seven website icons (shortcuts) shown. There is room for eight icons (shortcuts). I have not been able to identify a method to add and or edit any of these icons.

Please note: I am not referring to adding an icon to the tablets home screen. So far, all the "answers" that I have found refer to adding the shortcuts to the tablets homepage.

When I hold my finger on one of the Chrome icons, there are four options. Open in new tab, Open in incognito tab, download link, and Remove. Nothing for edit.

If I select the three vertical dots on the top right, there are nine options. Again, nothing that apparently points to editing and/or adding an icon (shortcut) to the Chrome opening screen.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=K1xL1Xl3Xuc:N0CzKPCxJjI:F7zBnMy latest?i=K1xL1Xl3Xuc:N0CzKPCxJjI:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=K1xL1Xl3Xuc:N0CzKPCxJjI:gIN9vFwK1xL1Xl3Xuc
