Report: Patriots expected to acquire Trent Brown from Raiders
The New England Patriots are expected to acquire offensive tackle Trent Brown from the Las Vegas Raiders, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
The Patriots will also receive the Raiders' 2022 seventh-round pick in the deal in exchange for New England's 2022 fifth-round selection.
Brown, who won a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2018, will reportedly rework his contract to a one-year, $11-million deal to facilitate the move.
His arrival in New England could foreshadow the departure of right tackle Marcus Cannon. Cannon holds a $9.6-million cap hit for 2021 but would only account for a dead-cap charge of $2.6 million, per Spotrac.
Brown struggled to stay on the field with the Raiders, playing in just 16 games over two seasons.
Las Vegas is also set to cut ties with two other members of its offensive line. The team will reportedly release Gabe Jackson and Richie Incognito.
