Acpi loginctl and power management hell

Hi all
I am still looking forward for a good set of power management scripts.
I use i3wm on current with laptop and very unhappy with the replacement of pm-* commands : loginctl doesn't seem featurefully integrated despite having a few things working.
Since this is no clean install and started only recently to track carefully my customizations, I feel a bit confused on where to start and how to start clean.
