VIDEO: Multiple 911 calls in Oakville to report large fire around Bronte Creek

Oakville firefighters are working feverishly after multiple 911 calls were made reporting a large fire around Bronte Creek Sunday evening (March 14).

Several firefighters responded to an area around the creek, north of Lakeshore Road, sometime after 6 p.m.

It's believed to be a large grass fire and Oakville firefighters are trying to bring it under control.

There are no reported injuries as of yet and the cause is still unknown. Several people took video and photos of what was transpiring:

Numerous people reporting seeing either flames or smoke, or both, and called 911. Fire officials reported some homeowners around Harbourside Court were concerned their homes would catch fire as the smoke came closer and drifted into the neighbourhood.

"This is heartbreaking," Alison King tweeted. "Just drove past and still lots of smoke and flames. All those poor birds and animals."
