Report: Harris returning to Broncos on 3-year, $27M contract
The Denver Broncos are re-signing defensive tackle Shelby Harris to a three-year deal worth $27 million that contains $15 million in guarantees, Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network report.
Harris spent the last four seasons with the Broncos after starting his career with the then-Oakland Raiders as a seventh-round pick.
The 29-year-old put together a career season in 2019, racking up six sacks, 49 total tackles, and one forced fumble.
Harris continued to be one of Denver's best defensive players last season, though his production took a hit - 2.5 sacks and 32 tackles - because he missed five games with an injury.
With defensive linemen DeMarcus Walker and Sylvester Williams set to hit free agency, Denver could ill afford to let Harris walk. The veteran should return to his starting spot alongside Dre'Mont Jones and Mike Purcell in 2021.
