Report: Jaguars getting trade calls for Minshew
A few teams have called the Jacksonville Jaguars to ask about quarterback Gardner Minshew, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
The Jaguars are widely expected to use the No. 1 overall pick on former Clemson star quarterback Trevor Lawrence, making Minshew's future with the team uncertain.
The former sixth-round pick appeared in 14 games (12 starts) as a rookie in 2019, becoming a cult figure amid a strong statistical season. Minshew threw for 3,271 yards and 21 touchdowns against six interceptions.
The 24-year-old produced similar numbers in nine appearances (eight starts) last season while splitting time with Mike Glennon, ending the year with 2,259 yards and 16 touchdowns against five interceptions. However, Minshew only managed to lead Jacksonville to one win.
Minshew could be an attractive option for teams due to the fact he's set to earn base salaries of just $850,000 this year and $965,000 next year, per Spotrac.
