Boot issues - Ubuntu

Hi all

I'm trying to solve some boot issues with an ubuntu installation on an external SSD. I am wondering if I should do a complete re-wipe, but before I do, just thought I would try to troubleshoot the problem.

So basically sometimes when I boot from the SSD into ubuntu, I get a black screen and I am forced to hard reset my computer.

JournalCTL will always show the following:

Quote:
Mar 14 12:14:08 My-Machine kernel: scsi 3:0:0:1: Wrong diagnostic page; asked for 1 got 8
Mar 14 12:14:08 My-Machine kernel: scsi 3:0:0:1: Failed to get diagnostic page 0x1
Mar 14 12:14:08 My-Machine kernel: scsi 3:0:0:1: Failed to bind enclosure -19
so far I have
  • Checked in gnome disks - disks are okay
Done a memtest, memory is okay
Checked with smartmontools everything comes up as okay
