Is running Mono a bad idea?

Hi

I'm setting a home server, using debian. (With a low powered ex-NAS, 2gb ram, quad-core 2ghz).

I've been looking at backup solutions to cloud (backblaze), such as restic, borg and duplicati.
Duplicati is the easiest to use via a web-based gui. (The others need scripting of some sorts, to automate backups which I don't have much experience of. And I want to avoid dumbly copying scripts, esp if the software changes and breaks the scripts etc).

Though Duplicati needs mono. I've seen a few comments that suggest this is resource hungry and adds another layer of complexity and should be avoided.

Any thoughts on this?latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=kIerHYnZY8E:zKCg37mDph4:F7zBnMy latest?i=kIerHYnZY8E:zKCg37mDph4:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=kIerHYnZY8E:zKCg37mDph4:gIN9vFwkIerHYnZY8E
