Free-agent edge rusher Jadeveon Clowney visited the Cleveland Browns on Wednesday, but left the meeting without a deal, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Clowney, one of the biggest names still on the market, played last season for the Tennessee Titans. He recorded 19 tackles without a sack in eight contests before the Titans shut him down with a knee injury.

Cleveland is in the market for an edge rusher to pair with Myles Garrett and brought in former first-round pick Takk McKinley on a one-year deal earlier in free agency to help in that department.

The Browns reportedly spoke with Clowney several times during the last offseason before he signed with the Titans.

The 28-year-old made three consecutive Pro Bowls between 2016-18, but his production dropped significantly the previous two years. Clowney recorded just three sacks over his last 21 games, split between the Seattle Seahawks and Titans.

The former No. 1 overall pick had a career-high 9.5 sacks for the Houston Texans in 2017.
