Dunlap re-signing with Seahawks on 2-year, $16.6M contract
The Seattle Seahawks are bringing back pass-rusher Carlos Dunlap.
The two sides reached a two-year, $16.6-million agreement with $8.5 million guaranteed, agent Drew Rosenhaus told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Seahawks originally acquired Dunlap from the Cincinnati Bengals in October. Over eight games in Seattle, Dunlap recorded five sacks for a pass-rush starved defense.
He was then released prior to free agency, saving the Seahawks roughly $14 million in cap space.
Seattle appeared to be in the process of creating even more cap room Thursday, as defensive tackle Jarran Reed hinted at an upcoming release.
In the end, Dunlap returns to Seattle at a more manageable number for the 2021 season.
The 32-year-old has notched 87.5 career sacks and made two trips to the Pro Bowl during an 11-year career.
