Hamilton police seize drugs, cash, weapons after stopping pair biking with no lights
Patrol officers who stopped a pair of cyclists at 4 a.m. for riding without lights wound up seizing drugs and a weapon.
It was just after 4 a.m. Sunday on Lottridge Street near Tim Hortons Field when the officers spotted a man and woman on bikes with no lights. They stopped the pair to ticket them under the Highway Traffic Act, Hamilton Police said.
It turned out the 45-year-old man was on a condition not to be with any women. He was arrested for breaching that condition and searched.
Officers found he had a prohibited weapon, which was a spring-loaded knife, over 20 grams of methamphetamine, 10 LSD patches, 143 hydromorphine pills and a large amount of cash indicative of proceeds of crime," according to police.
He was to appear in court Sunday and his bail was opposed.
