Disappearing cursor in xfce4-terminal on Slackware64 current
by semiprime from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5FYXK)
I'm wondering if anyone else is having this problem. I'm running Slackware64 current, xfce.
After an xfce4-terminal has been running for a while I often find that the cursor stops showing, although everything still responds as normal. I've not managed to catch the exact moment it happens, so I can't pin down any set of events that lead to the cursor disappearing. I suspect it might happen after waking up from suspend, but I've never caught it in the act, so I can't be sure.
(The other possibility is my fat fingers are activating some obscure shortcut to hide the cursor.)
This has been happening for a while (I've noticed it for a month at least), so it's not from the latest updates.
I've tried to get the cursor back using "reset", also changing the cursor type, activating cursor blink. None of these worked.
The only workaround I've found is to drag the tab of the cursorless terminal outside the window to create a new terminal window. The terminal in the new window gets its cursor back.
