A human skull found in a remote field in north Brantford earlier this year has been traced back to a 49-year-old man, police say.
Brantford police say the identity of the remains was confirmed March 23, two months after a local resident made the grisly discovery near an industrial area Jan. 23.
The name of the Brantford man will not be released out of respect for the family's privacy.
The cause of death has yet to be disclosed.
Police say the investigation into the circumstances of the death remains ongoing.
