Coroner concludes Delhi death was homicide: Norfolk OPP
Police in Norfolk County announced they were investigating a homicide Saturday following autopsy results from the coroner's office.
In a video posted to Twitter, acting Ontario Provincial Police Staff Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said an ongoing suspicious death investigation in Delhi ... has now been classified as a homicide."
Sanchuk said OPP from Norfolk County and paramedics responded to a death on King Street West in Delhi at approximately 2:30 on March 30.
The victim's body was taken to the coroner and forensic pathology office in Toronto to complete an autopsy.
Sanchuck said the post-mortem examination indicated that the death was the result of homicide."
OPP identified the victim as 54-year-old Michael Shawn Murray of Norfolk.
The investigation is ongoing and Sanchuck reminded the public to be aware of their personal safety at all times."
Police are asking residents of Delhi to check their properties for clothing or bags, like a back pack. And they are requesting residents with video surveillance to check their recordings for anything suspicious.
