Hello everyone. Just joined this forum because I installed Slackware 3 weeks ago and wanted to give feedback. I have only used Ubuntu but was really curious about Slackware because I've been monitoring this group and reading really helpful posts, fighting and funny comments. This group is very alive.
when I first booted up the install DVD I was really intimidated. There was lots to read of white text on black screen but I read everything and realized that Slackware was walking me through a very simply process.
I installed everything on 3 partitions /, home, and /usr. Everything went well. I couldnt't believe how fast installation was.
Haven't done much since than other than explore system and start installing things like geany and bluefish for programming. My immediate feedback is I'm liking Slackware a lot because everything is just there for programming. I'm learning a lot from Slackware build scripts in the source. Wow everything is right there to rebuild Slackware if needs.
I have no sound right now but I want to figure it out first and ask questions later if needs.
Ok so thank you
