ArcoLinux Initial Boot Fails on Macbook
by majestix from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5GEYM)
Hey there, I didnt get much help on Reddit, so i'll try it here.
I have installed, or I tried, to install ArcoLinux on my Macbook Air 2018 Retina.
The Installer gave no Errors, so I thought it worked. I tried it once on the Internal SSD and then on an External SSD.
When I reboot, after installation into the right System, I get the Message that the NetworkManager failed to start. I resolved this by plugging out the LAN Cable.
Then I get an Similar Issue with the LightDisplaymanager not starting and stopping. This gets into a loop and it wont boot.
Then I used a ArcoLinux LiveUSB and chrooted into the System and ran systemctl status lightdm
And also systemctl status NetworkManager
Both gave this Output: System has not been booted with systemd as init system (PID 1). Cant Operate.
Failed to connect to bus: Host is down.
This is frustrating, cause I am still kinda a noob, so I may not know some tricks. I mean I cant even boot my System. Ugh.
Maybe someone here has some Ideas? : )
--Macbook Air 2018 Retina (Intel Graphics)
--ArcoLinux 20.7.5
--Kernel 5.7.6
I'd be happy if this is some stupid mistake of mine haha.
