For a hot second, Jack Demerjian thought he won $1,002 off a Lotto 6/49 ticket.

Then he put on his glasses.

Up came three more zeroes.

I put my glasses on and checked again and I thought I was dreaming when I saw all those zeroes," Demerjian is quoted as saying in an OLG news release. I was shocked!"

The 57-year-old Hamilton skilled trades worker took home $1 million in the April 15 Lotto 6/49 draw with a ticket bought at Little Short Store on Pinebush Road in Cambridge.

He also got lucky(ish) with a $2 win off an ENCORE ticket, bringing his total jackpot to $1,000,002.

Demerjian said he plans to invest and save his prize money for retirement.

First, though, he needs a little while longer to digest all those zeroes.

It's going to take a few days to sink in," he said.
