SDDM error: changing lockscreen
by nrjchimwal from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5GM6W)
Hello.
I am using debian with plasma environment.
I am facing an error while changing lockscreen from 'System settings'.
When my laptop gets lock after standby time say (5 minutes). I can't login back to my session because there is no input box for password. All I can see is a wallpaper of my previous lockscreen.
I tried to change the lockscreen but couldn't.
When I try to set defaults or try to remove previously installed lockscreen theme, I get this error :
DBus Backend error: service start org.kde.kcontrol.kcmsddm failed: The permission of the setuid helper is not correct.
I also cannot install new theme. It crashes SDDM.
I posted this thread on reddit and found that there must be a problem with my policykit. But didn't found solution of it.
I tried reinstalling policykit packages but that didn't worked as well.
Please help me out with this
