Hiya,
few days ago I have adopted gmic by arch linux.
I've just tested gmic with Gimp because I have no idea about Krita.:D
Dependencies: CImg and GraphicsMagick ( ponce )
Build-Order: gmic-kit, gmic-zart
By the way, I've uploaded a video tutorial on youtube as well.
