XFS or BTRFS ?
by ddenial from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5GW9R)
Hello All
As Fedora 34 with Gnome 40 is about to release, I was wondering whether I should continue to use XFS (in LVM) as I do now with Fedora 33, or should I opt for Btrfs with Fedora 34?
I tried Fedora 34 Beta with Btrfs and it's really confusing. Most of the basic maintenance commands are completely different. Can't even get the filesystem sizes properly.
As for as COW and snapshot features are concerned, they are available in XFS (in LVM) too. OK, snapshot restoring in LVM is little slow, other than that, what so special about the Btrfs?
Is it really worth the hype? How does Btrfs compare to XFS?
I very much appreciate any comments or suggestions.
Thanks
Can someone provide me links to btrfs filesystem comprehensive guide? All I find is basic commands like 'btrfs filesystem this' or btrfs subvolume that'
