A teen girl on a skateboard was seriously hurt when she was struck by a vehicle on Old Mohawk Road, in Ancaster, Sunday night.

The 15-year-old suffered life-threatening injuries in the collision. By Monday morning she was in critical, but stable condition in hospital, said Const. Indy Bharaj.

Emergency services were called to Old Mohawk, near Mohawk Road and the Lincoln Alexander Parkway, around 8:49 p.m. on April 25.

The girl was on a skateboard on Old Mohawk when she was struck by a 2008 Honda driven by a 21-year-old Hamilton man, police said. He remained on scene and helped the girl until emergencies services arrived.

Hamilton Paramedic Service Supt. Dave Thompson said a 15-year-old girl was transported to hospital in critical condition.

The crash is under investigation by the collision reconstruction unit.

The road was briefly closed for the investigation but has since reopened.

Witnesses who have not spoken to police are asked to call the collision reconstruction unit at 905-546-4753 or 905-546-4755.
