Hello! Newbie with an ancient MacBook

Hi Linux Questions!
To make a long story short, I'm trying to get Linux running properly on a 2009 MacBook Air. I've been hopping from distro to distro, prioritizing ones that claim to be lightweight, and learning all I can while trying to get them to boot and talk to the appropriate hardware.
Someday I hope to have a newer machine I can run Linux on with less trouble, but for now I'll be coming here with questions about using Linux to revive this old MacBook.
