trying to get AMD radeon 6450 card working under wine for an application (not a game, but I thought gamers would know

I have Topaz Denoise AI (program that removes noise from photos really well) working under playonlinux using the Intel integrated graphics. Slow as tar on a cold day, but works.

Tried putting in an old but working AMD Radeon 6450, which though not great has double the throuput on paper of my intel graphics. Works well in the machine, but wine just crashes until I remove the card, then it works again. It was a manual install on playonlinux I've tried multiple things to get it working added the driver option, fiddled with all sorts of settings, but the permutations are enormous.

To make things more complicated Wine seems to sandbox the app so I have to guess which method or software they used for this in addition to wine.

So, it works without the card and won't work with it. Any help or pointers appreciated.
