Installation on SD card. Please help.

I just found spare SDHC mini card at home. I think to install Slackware there is better solution than to run all the time live system. At this moment I don't know my computer can boot from SD card. But if not I am thinking about workaround: boot partition on usb with / on SD card. Any suggestions?
