The Jacksonville Jaguars selected cornerback Tyson Campbell out of Georgia with the first pick in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft at No. 33 overall.

Jacksonville prioritized offense in round one, taking Clemson teammates Trevor Lawrence and Travis Etienne, and will likely aim to plug multiple defensive spots on Friday.

Head coach Urban Meyer was set on adding speed to his secondary, and that's exactly what Campbell will provide. The young cornerback ran a 4.38 at the Bulldogs' pro day in March.

Campbell joins an improving defensive backfield already including Shaquill Griffin, Sidney Jones, and last year's first-round pick C.J. Henderson.

Key stats: 29 tackles, 1 interception, 5 passes defended

Most college football viewers understand just how talented Campbell is. The former five-star recruit offers elite speed for the position, especially when considering his size and effortless movement skills. However, his instincts and ball skills are holding him back. Campbell had just one career interception at Georgia and his reaction time to routes is often a tick slow. Still, these traits can be improved upon in the pros with more seasoning and experience. There's no denying Campbell's upside.
