Ubuntu backup glitched my bookmarks and history. Help please.

I backed up Home folder and then did a restore. Now I get this message "The bookmarks and history system will not be functional because one of Firefox's files is in use by another application. Some security software can cause this problem."
I managed to fix the bookmark problem by creating a new profile and restoring from my old profile but I am still without history and I can't find how to restore it.
