Avalanche's Dubnyk tests positive for COVID-19
Colorado Avalanche backup goaltender Devan Dubnyk tested positive for COVID-19 and will miss at least two weeks, head coach Jared Bednar said Monday night, according to the Denver Post's Mike Chambers.
Dubnyk will quarantine in San Jose - where the Avalanche defeated the Sharks on Monday - because he has a home there. Once his isolation period is complete, he'll drive back to Denver, Bednar added.
The Sharks traded Dubnyk to the Avalanche in exchange for defenseman Greg Pateryn and a fifth-round pick on April 10.
Dubnyk, who turned 35 on Tuesday, has played five games with Colorado since the swap.
Colorado's No. 1 netminder, Philipp Grubauer, tested positive four days after the deal was complete and didn't return until April 30.
