lost internet on server, can access from other machines
by drspastic from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5HE1H)
running Debian 10 here.
yesterday my internet went off so I tried to create a new connection to use my phone as a temporary connection for my server.
it didn't work and now internet is back on anyway but I can't access the internet.
I can ping 8.8.8.8 but cannot ping google.com.
my LAN is working perfectly. i can access all files on the server from other devices. Apache is working perfectly and I can access server and website from the internet. I didn't touch anything in the command line only the standard gui internet connection tool
I tried deleting the connection and restarting a new one but still the same. first of all I was able to access my router's page on Chrome but now I can't even get that.
im no Linux genius and would appreciate help getting it working again and understanding why it broke
br0 and virbr0 are ok.
i want to fix using gui if possible because I broke it using gui. command line gives me the opportunity to break it further.
the original settings were what Debian installed with.
don't get why I can ping 8.8.8.8 but can't open my router at 192.168.0.1
router ip does not require a name server afaik
