A new twist on Pulseaudio

I am running slackware64 current (slackware64-15.0 beta) on an up-to-date machine.
Pulseaudio does not stop running after I quit a KDE session. Back on the command line I hear my CPU cooler fan start running, and indeed, top shows that it's running at 100 percent on one core. When I log out of my session (exit on the command line) I get a new login prompt and I notice that pulse has finally stopped.
I've also got this on the laptop, which is also running 15.0 beta.
