Shots fired near Quigley and Greenhill townhouse complex
Police are investigating a shooting in east Hamilton overnight.
Hamilton police were called to the area of 10 St. Andrews Dr., a townhouse complex near Quigley Road and Greenhill Avenue, around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 12 for reports of gunshots.
On scene officers secured the area, however, those involved had already fled, police said.
No injuries were reported and no one with gunshot wounds showed up in local hospitals.
Evidence collected at the scene confirmed a shooting occurred, police said.
Police believe the suspect or suspects drove a dark-coloured vehicle.
Detectives from the east end criminal investigations branch are investigating. Police are expected to be in the area throughout the day Wednesday.
Detectives are asking residents to check their security cameras and for anyone with information to call police.
There have been eight shootings in Hamilton this year. Five people have been shot in these incidents, including two killed.
