Report: Cardinals give Jordan Hicks permission to seek trade
The Arizona Cardinals have granted linebacker Jordan Hicks permission to seek a trade, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports.
The Cardinals recently drafted former Tulsa linebacker Zaven Collins in the first round and he's expected to start, likely making Hicks expendable.
However, Hicks remaining with the Cardinals in a reserve role hasn't been ruled out, but he'll be allowed to test his trade market first, Rapoport adds.
The 28-year-old took a $3-million pay cut in 2021, and he'll earn a base salary of $2 million this season.
Hicks began his career with the Philadelphia Eagles before signing with the Cardinals in 2019. He's started every game for Arizona since joining the club. The veteran recorded a career-high 150 tackles during his first year with the team and followed that up with 118 last season.
